Hot-lead alerts
How Trevy decides a contact is hot, and what their agent gets in Follow Up Boss when one is.
Updated October 20, 2026
When a contact starts showing real interest and nobody on your team has reached them lately, Trevy tells their agent in Follow Up Boss. Start Trevy, at the end of setup, turns alerts on, so your agents hear about their hot leads in FUB without logging in to Trevy.
Turning alerts on or off
Go to Settings → Alerts and reports and find the Hot-Lead Alerts card. The team lead sees this tab, and so do agents on your team who are an Owner or Admin in FUB. Pick one:
- Off: no alerts. An account starts here until Start Trevy turns them on.
- Practice: Trevy decides every alert and shows them in your report, but sends nothing to your agents.
- On: agents get each alert in FUB.
After a practice week, your weekly report has a Turn alerts on button.
What makes a contact hot
Trevy scores what each contact did recently:
- 1 point for each home they viewed this week, up to 10
- 3 points for each home they saved this week, up to 9
- 4 points for each home they keep coming back to (viewed on two or more separate days, most recently in the last two weeks), up to 12
- 3 points if they opened their market report this week
- 6 points if they sent an inquiry in the last two weeks
A score of 10 or more is hot. Visits count as separate days when they're at least 12 hours apart.
When an alert goes out
A hot contact gets an alert only when all of these are true:
- What made them hot happened in the last 48 hours.
- They're assigned to an agent who is active in FUB, and aren't in a pond.
- Nobody on your team has called, texted or emailed them in the last 48 hours. FUB doesn't say who sent a text, so any text counts.
- They haven't replied since. Replies get their own follow-up.
- They haven't had an alert in the last 7 days.
- It's between 8am and 9pm in the agent's time zone. Overnight activity waits for the morning.
- They aren't on your do-not-contact list or on your Contacts → Leave out list.
Each agent gets at most five alerts a day, hottest first. Trevy looks every 15 minutes, and starts once it has read your last 90 days of calls, texts and emails, so it knows who your team has already reached.
What the agent gets
Under What an alert is in Follow Up Boss, choose:
- A task: the agent gets a Call task, due in five minutes with a reminder. Its name says why, for example "Call: viewed 123 Maple St on 3 days, no contact in 9 days".
- A tag: the contact gets the Trevy Hot tag, so your own automations and action plans take it from there. With this choice, Trevy doesn't alert again while the tag is still on the contact.
- Both: the task and the tag.
Either way, the agent also gets:
- A note starting "Trevy:", saying when the contact was active, which homes they kept coming back to, when the team last reached them, and a suggested text.
- A text ready to send. Trevy puts the suggested text in the contact's Trevy Text field. The agent starts a text to the contact in FUB and picks the Trevy: suggested text template, which fills it in, and sends it from their own FUB number. If Trevy can't set up the field and template in your FUB, the text is still in the note.
The tag and the suggested text come off three days later, so the next alert adds the tag fresh and your "Tag Added" automations run again. A text someone changed, or a tag someone already removed, is left alone.
If nobody reaches the contact in time, Trevy can move them: see When nobody reaches a hot lead.
