Connect Follow Up Boss

Trevy works from your team's Follow Up Boss account, so connecting it is the first step after you create your Trevy account. The team lead connects Follow Up Boss (FUB) once for the whole team. Agents you add to your team use that connection, and their Settings show "Connected via team leader".

Sign in with Follow Up Boss

This is the main way to connect.

1. On the Connect FUB step of setup, click "Sign in with Follow Up Boss". (In Settings, the same button is behind "Connect FUB", next to Follow Up Boss under Settings → General → Connections.)
2. FUB opens. Sign in and approve Trevy.
3. FUB sends you back to Trevy, connected.

Finish within 15 minutes, in the same browser you started in. If you don't, Trevy shows "That sign-in took too long or started in another browser. Try again." If you don't approve Trevy in FUB, you'll see "Trevy wasn't approved in Follow Up Boss, so it isn't connected."

Use an API key instead

If you'd rather use an API key, click "Use an API key instead" under the sign-in button. Where signing in isn't available, Trevy shows the API key form straight away.

1. Log in to Follow Up Boss.
2. Go to Admin → API.
3. Copy your API key.
4. Paste it into the API Key field in Trevy and click "Connect & Continue" (during setup) or "Connect" (in Settings).

If FUB doesn't accept the key, Trevy shows "Invalid API key. Please check and try again." To switch back, click "Sign in with Follow Up Boss instead".

What happens when you connect

• Trevy checks which FUB account it's connected to.
• Your 14-day free trial starts, if this FUB account hasn't had one. See Your free trial.
• Trevy takes your time zone from your FUB profile. To change it, change it in FUB, and Trevy follows by the next morning.
• Trevy asks FUB to tell it when your contacts and their activity change, and starts copying your contacts so it can count and work them.

If Trevy can't reach FUB while connecting, you'll see "Couldn't reach Follow Up Boss just now. Try again in a minute."

Reconnect or change your key

Go to Settings → General → Connections. Next to Follow Up Boss, the button reads "Reconnect" if signing in is available or you connected that way, and "Update API Key" otherwise. Reconnecting doesn't start a new free trial.

Connect as the account owner

When you set up sending, Trevy adds its own custom fields to your FUB account. If FUB doesn't let your login do that, Trevy asks you to "Reconnect Trevy as the account owner so it can add its custom fields."
