Listing alerts

Who gets homes for sale from Trevy, how the homes are picked, and what the email looks like.

Updated October 20, 2026

A listing alert is a short note from the contact's agent followed by homes for sale picked for them. Trevy sends listing alerts only to contacts who are buying.

Who gets them

Contacts Trevy can tell are buying, or buying and selling. That's someone who asked about or saved a home, saved a search, went to an open house, carries a buyer tag, or is in an open buyer deal. How Trevy tells buyers from sellers has the full rules.

Everyone else gets something in place of the listing alert:

  • Contacts Trevy can't place yet, and contacts who seem to be looking at rentals, are asked once what they're looking for. See Check-ins and short follow-ups.
  • After that question, and for sellers and past clients, the step becomes a market update when the contact has a city on their record. Without a city, the step is skipped.
  • Agents, lenders and vendors get no follow-up emails at all.

When they go

In the default flows: New Lead on days 1, 5 and 14, Gone Cold on day 14, Re-engaged on day 3 and Property Hot on day 0.

When Trevy can't tell where a contact is shopping, the New Lead day 1, Re-engaged and Property Hot listing alerts go out as a check-in instead, and the others are skipped.

How the homes are picked

  • Where: the city of the homes they've looked at most (once they've looked at two or more), else the city in their most recent saved search, else the city on their Follow Up Boss record.
  • Price: within 15% of the average price of the homes they've looked at (two or more). Without that, their saved search's price range. Without that, the price on their FUB record, 20% either side, or the range as it was typed.
  • Bedrooms: at least the number most of their viewed homes have, else their saved search's minimum.
  • Which: homes for sale, newest first, the top five.

If no homes match, the email skips the listings and asks what they're looking for, in two sentences.

What's in the email

  • One or two sentences from the agent that mention one specific thing, such as an address, a price or how many homes are new, and end by offering a showing.
  • The homes. FUB limits how long one email can be, so Trevy includes as many homes as fit. As many as fit get a photo card with the price, beds, baths, square feet and address. The rest are short linked lines. Each home links to its listing page.
  • The agent's first name, then the agent's FUB signature.
  • With Tour times on, the first home carries tour times. See Tour requests.

Trevy writes the subject line for each email.

What you can change

  • New listings on the Emails page, under Follow-up emails, switches listing alerts off and on. With it off, each listing alert is passed over and the next email keeps its day. A listing step that goes to a seller as a market update, or as a check-in when there's no city, follows those switches instead.
  • How Trevy sounds on Your page changes how the note sounds: Warm, Professional or Casual.
  • To have Trevy treat a contact as a buyer, give them a tag with the word buyer, buyers or buying in FUB. For a past client a buyer tag doesn't count; put them in an open deal in a buyer pipeline instead.
