Contacts who stop answering
When a contact hasn't opened or clicked Trevy's emails in months, their agent asks them once whether to keep getting them, and Trevy holds its emails until they answer.
Updated October 20, 2026
Email that nobody opens hurts the mailbox it comes from. Trevy sends every email from the contact's agent through Follow Up Boss (FUB), so it keeps your agents' email out of spam by checking in with contacts who have stopped answering.
When Trevy checks in
A contact gets a check-in when Trevy has sent them at least six emails over at least four months, and in that time they haven't:
- opened or clicked a Trevy email
- visited their market report
- replied to anyone on your team, by email or text
- asked for a tour
They also have to be someone Trevy is still emailing (at least one email in the last 45 days) and in the stages and tags your team picked. Nobody is asked whether to keep getting emails that have already stopped.
This check-in always stays on while you send through Follow Up Boss. Switching off Check-ins and notes, or any other kind, on the Emails page doesn't stop it, since it's what protects your agents' mailboxes.
Follow-ups, market reports and timely emails count toward the six. Tour emails don't. Emails from every Trevy login on your FUB account count together.
The check-in
The contact gets one short email from their agent, with the subject Should I keep sending these? It asks whether Trevy's emails are still useful, and says the emails will stop for now if the agent doesn't hear back. FUB adds the agent's signature and your unsubscribe footer, like every Trevy email. It doesn't use any of your plan's AI email credits.
The email links to the contact's market report. If your team's market has no report that month, or you haven't set one up, it asks them to reply to their agent instead.
Until they answer
After the check-in, Trevy holds its follow-ups, timely emails and market reports to that contact. Every flow they're in pauses at the step it's on, and nothing is skipped.
Everything picks up again once the contact does any of these: taps the link, clicks anything in a Trevy email, visits or uses their market report, or asks for a tour. Their flows start again from the step they paused on. Opening the check-in isn't enough, since many email apps open emails on their own.
A reply to anyone on your team, by email or text, works like every reply to Trevy: the conversation belongs to the agent, so the contact's flows stay paused and none starts for them again on its own, while their market reports start again. Trevy can't tell whether a reply says "keep them coming" or "stop", so the agent decides. See When a contact replies.
While Trevy is holding a contact's emails, no other flow starts for them. A flow that ranks higher than the one they paused in takes its place, and waits the same way.
Hot-lead alerts, tour requests and your agents' own emails go on as before. A contact Trevy is holding emails for still counts toward your plan.
How many go out
Check-ins go out a few at a time, at most 50 a day for your FUB account, so your agents' mailboxes never send a burst of them. None go during your quiet hours, or 9pm to 8am if you haven't set any (see Sending hours and time zones). They keep to your test tag, your Leave out list on Contacts, and your do-not-contact list.
Your team report says how many contacts Trevy checked in with that week.
