How your plan changes

When Trevy moves your plan up or down, how the difference is charged or credited, and how to change your plan yourself.

Updated October 20, 2026

Your plan follows the number of contacts Trevy works (see Plans and pricing). Trevy counts them once a day, straight from Follow Up Boss (FUB), by who you chose on the Contacts page, so your bill always rests on what's in FUB today.

Within your plan's range

If the count is within your plan's range, nothing changes.

Moving up

When your contacts grow past your plan, Trevy moves you up that day, straight to the plan that covers the count, in one move, however many plans that skips. When it does:

  • The difference for the rest of your billing period is charged right away (on yearly billing, for the rest of the year).
  • Your next bill is the new plan's price.
  • The team lead gets a receipt, "Your database grew: Trevy is working" and the count, with what Trevy did for your contacts in the last 30 days, your new plan and price, and the amount charged.

Before it moves you, Trevy checks the count two ways: straight from FUB, and from its own copy of your contacts. If the two disagree, nothing moves until they match, so a counting mistake never reaches your card.

Moving down

If a smaller plan covers the contacts Trevy works when your plan renews, Trevy moves you down at that renewal. Plans only move down at a renewal, never in between.

When your plan moves down:

  • The difference for the rest of the billing period comes back as a credit on your next bill.
  • The team lead gets an email, "Your Trevy bill goes down to" and the new monthly price, with the amount of the credit.

When nothing moves

Nothing moves on a count of zero, until Trevy has counted your contacts in FUB that day, or while its two counts disagree.

Change it yourself

Go to Settings → Billing. At the bottom of the Current Plan card, Trevy shows the plan for the contacts it works today.

  • If that plan is bigger than yours, click "Switch to this plan now". The change is prorated for the rest of your billing period.
  • If it's smaller, you'll see "Trevy works fewer contacts than your plan covers, so your plan moves down at your next renewal." You can't move down yourself; the renewal does it.
  • To switch between monthly and yearly, pick "Monthly" or "Yearly, 20% off", then click the button that appears: "Switch to yearly billing", "Switch to monthly billing" or "Switch to this plan now". This is prorated too.

Adding agents

Adding agents never changes your plan or your price: every plan includes your whole team. See Adding agents to your team.

Lowering your bill

Have Trevy work fewer contacts, on the Contacts page:

  • Under Who Trevy works, narrow your picks of stages and tags.
  • Under Leave out, add the stages, tags, agents' contacts or sources Trevy should never write to.

Each change saves at once and the count updates, so you see straight away how many contacts Trevy works. The team lead also sees the plan and price for that count. A lower count moves your plan down at your next renewal, and keeps it from moving up. See Choosing who Trevy emails.
